Wahl Animal eCommerce Site Development

Brief: To accompany the full brand refresh for Wahl Professional Animal, lead the development of brand new ecommerce site. This will be the department's first direct to consumer presence and the site must be engaging and helpful for consumers of all skill types.

Role:
- UX/UI Lead: I led cross-functional external design and development teams.
- UX/UI Designer: When bandwidth or budget was limited, I was responsible for creating wireframes and prototypes to get the project across the finish line.
- Project Manager: Due to our team being quite lean, I was also tasked to keep the project on schedule, manage project traffic and perform UAT when necessary.

Services: UX/UI Research | Design Leadership | Strategy Creation | Prototype Design & Ideation | Project Management

Tools: Illustrator | Photoshop | InVision | Adobe Commerce (Magneto)
Finished homepage for wahlanimal.com (pre-2022)
UX wireframe examples of the site showing the extensive navigation and filters along with flyout mini cart.
Finished UI prototypes of homepage, product finder, product listing page, product detail page (full page) and checkout flow.
Solution: The finished wahlanimal.com was a bright colorful direct to consumer site that covered all needs for the end user. Besides the clean, playful look, the site featured everything from guides and a product finder for newer users and blog postings and a linked education portal for professional animal groomers. The site grew significant interest among target users and saw a 300% increase in traffic year over year compared to the old brochureware site. My favorite elements to the site are the nuances that tie back to the brand refresh such as the blade and animal icons.

Result: The site grew significant interest among target users and saw a 300% increase in traffic year over year compared to the old brochureware site along with generating $550K in its first year.
